Operation Gamekeeper by Katherine Griffiths
OCCUPIED FRANCE, 5th June 1944, a small team of British women prepare to take on the German occupiers. They are members of the highly secretive Special Operations Executive. This small team codenamed ‘Gamekeeper’ have been in country for nearly two years working with and training the local Maquis in Le Visham Normandy. The team are experts at their trade.
They start with low level sabotage and demoralising of the enemy and as the invasion approaches the sabotage gets more and more overt before the final Operation Hailstorm to liberate Le Visham from the Germans.
The Germans, led by Colonel Franz Strauss, a veteran of WW1, are happy to sit out the war in peace despite the dreaded Gestapo threatening to disrupt the peace of Le Visham. The Gamekeeper team twist their tails and start a civil war between the Gestapo in Berlin and France. All the while working towards their ultimate goal, LIBERATION.
